Student development unit of Basic Languages department carries out some clubs including Conversation Club, Debate Club, Drama Club, Theater Club, Music Club and Journalism Club according to demands of our students.

English Preparatory Clubs were created to ensure the development in foreign language learning and make it a habit to use and to popularize the language learning.

These clubs contribute to the students' the professional and personal development and the formation of consciousness of responsibility and duty as well as improvement of students' language skills. Students may join the club of their choice in accordance with the interests and abilities.

Foreign Languages School Clubs under the supervision of instructors come together and are made to work for a final show both for on-campus and off campus events. Clubs can make cooperation with other clubs, as well as being able to work alone.

Preparatory School Clubs

1- Conversation Club: Students who meet certain days and hours of the week, get the chance to improve their English speaking skills with native teachers.

2- Debate Club: In two semesters, as students living the excitement of the struggle through debate tournaments on the one hand, on the other hand, they have opportunity to express their personal knowledge and opinions and defend their ideas about a topic in target language.

3- Drama Club: Plays are performed twice a year. Volunteer   Students volunteers in the theater team are responsible for all affairs. Student Development Unit acts as the consultant and director of the plays.

4- Movie Club: Students who watch movies periodically, do not only watch movies passively, volunteer students make a research to make a presentation about movies before they watch and after movies are watched, students discuss about them in meetings for making the meetings more effective.

5- Music Club: Students interested in music work as a solo or group. Music performances are shown in parties and competitions in academic year. Cooperating with drama club either contribute by preparing music for plays or by a live stage performance.

6- Journalism Club: Journalism Club consisting an editor, columnists, reporters prepares news about the prep school, the world and Turkey's agenda, fashion columns, announcements and advertisements and blog with interviews and they update periodically. Before writings are published students are required to apply to student development unit coordinator for organizations of journals. Students interested in photography or video shoot can contribute by taking part in the blog.
