Academic Units

Curriculum and Material Development Unit

Curriculum and Material Development Unit carries out the activities of developing teaching programs related to the courses within our school and supporting the textbooks to be used in the courses in line with the learning outcomes in coordination with the Testing Unit. For this purpose, the main responsibilities of the CMD unit;

- To prepare the content of all textbooks that are selected with the participation of all instructors in the SFL and to be used during an academic year, based on the GSE,

- To prepare annual lesson plans of the agreed content,

- To convert the prepared annual plan into 8-week course programs (for preparatory courses) according to the academic calendar and conveying it to all Instructors,

- To monitor whether the implemented curriculum is working or not and to organize CMD meetings routinely in order to get the opinions and suggestions of the Instructors and the students,

- To prepare extra study materials and revise the curriculum for the missing or weak points seen in the program and / or books according to the results of these meetings,

- Submitting the reports prepared on the activities carried out and planned to the School Directorate.

 

Testing Unit

Testing Unit carries out development and evaluation activities by determining the teaching materials that enable the students who are studying within our school to reach the determined outcomes and the tools that allow them to reach the achievements and follow their developments in this process. In addition, it undertakes the responsibility of preparing all the exams planned by the School of Foreign Languages during the year, applying these exams and evaluating and announcing the results. In addition to these exams; question preparation, application and evaluation services of Erasmus Student Exchange exams planned by the International Relations Office are also provided by this unit.

 

Professional Development Unit

Considering the demands and needs of the academic staff working in our school, it carries out education and research activities that will enable the professional development of them to perform their professions more effectively and efficiently. Seminars, conferences and courses are organized by the unit according to the needs of the teaching staff; webinar announcements are shared. Seminars and courses can be presented by the unit staff, or they can be carried out by experts. People voluntarily participate in these activities.

Quality Management and Accreditation Unit

Taking into account the expectations and suggestions of our school's staff and students, Quality Management and Accreditation Unit are responsible for:

- effective, economical and efficient use of resources,

- providing duties and services in place, on time, accurately, reliably, with a friendly manner, quickly and more effectively,

- establishing a contemporary and participatory management culture that focuses on mutual satisfaction for the continuous development and improvement of all organizational and transaction processes,

- planning and implementing activities to meet the standards that will enable our institution to provide high quality service and to ensure its continuity.

For this purpose, the Quality Management and Accreditation Unit,

  • gets in contact with institutions and organizations that carry out accreditation and TQM activities and / or are accredited both in Turkey and all over the world and increases the quality standards of our School of Foreign Languages and follows these activities.
  • prepares a written document (Instructor / Student Handbook and Quality Manual) in order to archive and store the obtained data, documents and reports regularly, and presents them to the executives,
  • conducts routine meetings about the activities carried out and planned and submits the prepared reports to the School Directorate.

 

Student Development Unit

Student Development Unit organizes and supports various social activities, sports competitions, celebrations, award-winning competitions and excursions that contribute to the development of students during the Preparatory Education. Some social activities they organize are as follows:

- Student orientation meetings at the beginning of academic years.

- Speaking and Debating Club

- School Newspaper and / or Magazine

- Daily Trips, Quiz Shows, Student Orientation, Film-Theater and End-of-year events

 

R&D Unit

The main purpose of the R&D and Project Unit is to raise the standards of English education and service provided in our school and to increase its capacity by conducting studies on all kinds of areas, projects and implementation activities in order to develop national and international social and educational project ideas and to ensure the implementation of these projects. In this context, among the main activities of the unit are;

  • to determine the problems related to the applications encountered in the education process and the needs of students for the language learning process, to conduct research and to develop solutions for these problems
  • to organize routine meetings so that the solutions can be transformed into educational project ideas and to carry out the necessary feasibility activities for the realization of project ideas,
  • to inform the academic staff of our school about domestic and international projects,
  • to direct them to channels where they can get detailed information about these projects,
  • to organize informative meetings in order to encourage students to develop national or international social responsibility projects,
  • to make announcements about existing projects (TÜBİTAK, Horizon, BAP, ZEKA, Erasmus + Programs, Exchange programs such as Mevlana, Newton, Farabi etc.) and inform the college staff with the help of social media tools,
  • to establish partnerships on behalf of the School, for activities and collaborations that can be carried out within the framework of Exchange Programs such as Erasmus +, Mevlana and Farabi,
  • to share information about the content of the activities after the projects are realized and to share the project outputs with the PMD Unit, Student Development Unit and Professional Development Unit,
  • to provide visits to non-profit organizations such as associations and foundations operating in the context of social responsibility projects in the province of Kütahya in order to develop the capacities of young people as active individuals and to prepare observation and evaluation reports as a result of these visits,
  • to prepare and archive the necessary documents related to the project activities,
  • to hold routine meetings regarding the activities carried out and planned and to submit the prepared reports to the School Directorate.
